Sooo.... Down to business. I'm looking for guitarists to jam with in the Valley. Anyone who wants to jam will do. Whether you've just begun to learn. Or if you're decent or even if you can play lead like a mofo and blow me out of the water with your insane 6-stringed skills(slight preferance for the latter). I've found that the more I jam with other people the better I get at playing. I am looking for guitarists partly because I wish to work on more lead work and fast riffs with harmonized parts. But I suppose another drummer or bassist is good aswell. I AM NOT LOOKING TO FORM ANOTHER BAND! Well... Not right now. Blacklist benefits from most of my general creativity and especially all my writing on guitar.
So here's some of the things I can do: I am a heavy metal rhythm guitarist. Not just some guy who can't play lead(even though I'm not too fast at lead). I have very good right hand technique and can skip 3 or 4 strings apart back-and-forth in a riff. I use circular picking(flexing at the knuckles) for any kind of triplets or galloping and any other odd rhythmic patterns.
My musical theory is limited but I have taken measures to enlighten myself in the last 2 years. I now employ a lot of strange ethnic scales and modes and have been pouring a lot of thought into relationships between scales, keys and chordings. Favorite ethnic scales are currently: Algerian, Major Phrygian, Blues, Mohammedan, Overtone, Leading Whole Tone(weird), and good ol Minor and Major. I like Most of the modes of the Major Scale. Locrian and Phrygian especially.
So that's it...
Oh yeah, I am moved to the Valley as of September and I like playing in Drop C.
